New Renee Foosaner Exhibition Features Brevard’s Steven Seinberg

Show from Abstract Painter Opens Feb. 14

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The works of Indian Harbor Beach-based painter Steven Seinberg will be featured in a new exhibition opening Feb. 14 at the Frits Van Eeden Gallery in Florida Institute of Technology’s Renee Foosaner Education Center.

The Education Center is located at 1520 Highland Ave. in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Seinberg is known for his “soft, sensuous abstraction,” according to the Bill Lowe Gallery, the Atlanta-based gallery that has shown the 47-year-old artist’s work for more than a decade.

“Like the seeping of water into layers of planted soil, the thin washes of color in Seinberg’s canvases penetrate imagery of seeds and pods, thereby realizing the creative potential inherent in this process,” the gallery said about Seinberg.

Seinberg has also shown his work in North Carolina, Texas, Florida and New Mexico. His work is included in the permanent collections of Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and the North Hampton Country Club in Tokyo, Japan. Seinberg earned his MFA from Georgia State University and a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art.

An artist’s reception is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, March 3. The event is free and open to the public.

The Fritz Van Eeden gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, as well as from 5:30-7:30 p.m. the first Friday of each month. Admission is free.
