– Florida Tech’s Department of Civil Engineering is pleased to announce that Jacobs Sverdrup Inc., a member of Florida Tech’s Construction Industry
Advisory Board (CIAB), has donated $5,000 to fund Sverdrup-Cape Canaveral Group Scholarships for two civil engineering majors. This scholarship is for
students interested in the area of construction management.
“Jacobs Sverdrup is pleased to provide continuing support to the Florida Tech civil engineering program,” said Joe D. Hollis, vice president/general
manager, Cape Canaveral Group. “We certainly share an interest in the initiative and in the obvious benefit to the students.”
Dr. Ashok Pandit, head of the Department of Civil Engineering, said that the “generous scholarship” grant will go a long way to fulfill CIAB’s primary
mission, to generate excitement about construction management as a field of study among area students.
Pandit also said that, “Two outstanding students would be selected this year as Sverdrup Cape Canaveral Group Scholars.”
