Take Flight on Florida Tech’s Guided Educational European Tour May 2014; Registration Now Open
MELBOURNE, FLA.—Registration is now open for the Florida Institute of Technology “March to Victory: D-Day to Eagle’s Nest,” which is set to embark on May 12 and return May 22, 2014 from Melbourne. March to Victory is a guided educational tour of World War II Europe that includes France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Participants will enjoy excursions while learning, experience new cultures and network with other world travelers.
The tour will be guided by Robert Taylor, Florida Tech associate dean and head, School of Arts and Communication, and Matthew Ruane, School of Arts and Communication instructor. The guided tour includes Napoleon’s Tomb in Normandy, France; battleground sites where the film “A Bridge Too Far” was filmed in the Netherlands; the Siege of Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge site in Belgium, and Hitler’s mountain retreat, the Eagle’s Nest in Germany.
The cost is $2,999 and includes excursions and entrance fees, three meals a day, hotels, tour guides and tour buses. The cost does not include airfare or Visa fees for non-American citizens. A non-refundable deposit of $1,500 is due by Nov. 1, 2013, and final payment is due by March 1, 2014. Those who cancel by Feb. 28, 2014, will receive a refund minus the deposit.
