Teams Sought for Alpha Phi Heart Charity Softball Tournament

– The Alpha Phi Sorority of Florida Institute of Technology is registering teams for the Heart to Heart Charity Softball Tournament on the weekend of Feb.
14-15. The tournament will take place at Melbourne’s Florida Ave. public ball fields near Babcock St.

People of all ages and all local organizations are invited to participate on the teams. Two divisions will include co-ed and male teams. There will be
prizes.

Registration is $100 per team. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds will support Holmes Regional Medical Center’s new Health First Heart Institute. The
remainder will go to the Alpha Phi Foundation.

Alpha Phi historically has focused on heart disease and cardiac care as a philanthropic priority. Since Alpha Phi began in 1872, thousands of collegiate
and alumni members have raised and donated millions of dollars to support cardiac care and research. Supporting research into the causes and treatment of
heart disease in women has been a special interest of the Alpha Phi Foundation for over 50 years.
