Howard Lance to Speak at Commencement

– The Charles and Ruth Clemente Center is the site of Florida Tech’s Spring Commencement ceremonies on May 6 at 10 a.m. Howard L. Lance, chairman of the
board, president and CEO of Harris Corporation, will be the commencement speaker.

Lance will also receive the university’s most prestigious award that day, the President’s Medal. The award acknowledges individuals who have provided
superior service, support and dedication to the university. Before joining Harris, Lance was president of NCR Corporation and chief operating officer of
its Retail and Financial Group. Previously, he spent 17 years with Emerson Electric Company, where he held a number of senior management positions. These
included executive vice president of its Electronics and Telecommunications segment, chief executive officer and director of its Astec electronics company
in Hong Kong, group vice president of its Climate Technologies business segment and president of its Copeland Refrigeration division.

Over 470 students will receive their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees at spring commencement in Melbourne. Florida Tech will also confer
approximately 200 master’s degrees through its University College Extended Studies Division, which has 10 locations throughout the United States as well as
a Virtual Graduate Center.
