Tech Falls to Palm Beach Atlantic 93-89

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Florida Tech Panthers (1-1) fell 93-89 in men’s basketball action against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (1-1) at the Rubin
Arena. The Panthers were unable to run an effective defense to prevent the young Sailfish team from hitting a remarkable 13 buckets from the three point
line. Despite cutting it to only two buckets at the buzzer off a three point goal by senior guard Desmond Greene (Rockledge, Fla.). The Panthers showed up
to the game in the final four minutes with not enough time to come back from a seventeen point lead.

At the half, Tech was down 38-44 unable to guard the perimeter allowing the Sailfish to put down five three pointers in under nine minutes of play. Despite
the loss, Tech was able to block seven shots to the Sailfish two for the night.

Tech was led by senior forward Ryan Maultsby (Vero Beach, Fla.) sinking eight from the field tallying 19 points for the game high. Fellow senior forward
Titas Vainauskas notched a double-double for the evening with 14 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks. The other three starters also scored in the double
figures. Guards E.J. Murray (Rockledge, Fla.) chipped in seventeen points while Greene added sixteen points. Junior center Damian Clark put up eleven
points and grabbed seven boards to round off the Panthers scoring.

Five Sailfish scored in the double figures including Sean Tucker and Spencer Lee who each had 16 points for the contest. Tucker led his team under the
boards pulling down eight for the game.

Tech will be back in action on Saturday, November 19th at 6:00 p.m. when the host Florida Memorial at the Clemente Center.
