Tech Finishes 14th in Coker Invitational Despite Excellent First Day Finish

ORLANDA, Fla.-The Florida Tech Men’s Golf team finishes 14th in Coker College Invitational at the Orlando National Golf and Country Club. The Panthers
finished day one in third place shooting a 283 for the Par 72 -6800 yardage course.

The two day event brought together 17 of the top 40 Division II golf teams in the nation to compete against each other on the same course. Ninety
student-athletes came together and finished the Coker Invitational including seven Sunshine State Conference schools.

Florida Southern topped the Invitational with a 277-283 combining for a 560 winning score. Regional opponent the University of West Florida placed 2nd
shooting a 284-280=564. Rollins tied for third with Columbus State each tallying a 574.

Florida Southern’s Greg Koch was the medalist shooting a 67-67 for a two round 10 under par 134 final score.

Tech’s second day score of 310 only proves that Tech’s players are still a young group and need to gain some experience in such a competitive region.

the only Panther to place in the top 20 finishing two under par at 14th.

highest round of 81 in day two. Junior Justin Reiger placed tied for 62nd with a 72-80=152 for the invitational. Ryan Gielow shot a 74-79=153 tying for
66th place. Tech’s 5th man was Dan Moline who shot 78 and 70 fro a 157 placing 82nd for both rounds.
