Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts Has New Hours, Seeks Volunteers

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts announces new hours. It is now open Tuesday-Fridays, 10 a.m.-

4 p.m. and Saturdays, noon-4 p.m. Admission is free.

Do you have an interest in the arts? Would you like to learn more about textiles? Do you enjoy working with the public?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you can become an advocate for cultural enrichment by becoming a volunteer at the center. Volunteers are needed immediately to greet visitors and answer the phone at the center reception desk.

If you would like to be a docent and lead tours for visitors, please note that the docent training program begins Monday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to noon and will continue for seven weeks.

The Funk Center is located next to Evans Library at the edge of the Botanical Garden. The current exhibit Speaking with Thread: The Narrative of Textiles continues through April 24.
