Tech Overcomes Five Game Losing Streak to Grab First SSC Win of the 2006 Season

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University women’s basketball team (3-10, 0-2 SSC) dropped a 73-58 decision to the Florida Tech Panthers (7-6, 1-1 SSC)
earlier today in Sunshine State Conference action at the Health & Sports Center.

The Buccaneers opened the second half of the season with a loss at home to the Panthers. Florida Tech jumped out early with a 10-2 run to open the game and
led 33-25 at the intermission. In the second half, the Panthers outscored the Bucs 40-33 for the win.

Danielle Vaughn (Jr., Tallahassee, Fla.) came off the bench and contributed 17 points to lead the Panthers and dished out a team-high five assists. Danise
Fequiere (Jr., Miami, Fla.) added 14 points, while Jennifer Tamilio (So., Salem, Mass.) followed with 12.

Four players scored double-digits for the Bucs. Both Amanda Mageean (So., Barrie, Ontario) and Sandra Jansson (So., Sodertaljie, Sweden) scored a team-high
12 points a piece, while Christina Thompson (Fr., Mesquite, Texas) and Kristy Singletary (Fr., Macomb,Mich.) each added 11 points. Jansson also dished out
eight assists and Thompson collected nine rebounds for the Buc’s.
