Techs Home Winning Streak Continues Defeating Waldorf College

MELBOURNE, Fla. (men’s basketball) – Florida Tech Men ballers return home and gain their third win despite playing on a neutral floor against NAIA opponent
Waldorf College in a 77-60 win over the Warriors. The win marks Tech’s third win on the season all while playing at home.

Getting off to a quick start wasn’t a problem for either team as the Warriors and Panthers battled through the first minutes rallying back and forth. With
the game tied at 18-18 at the 10:25 mark, Tech went on a 9-2 run taking the lead by 7; 27-20 with seven and half minutes to play in the first half. With
4:55 left on the clock, the Warriors managed a 9-5 run retaking the lead at 38-36 going into the half.

Early on it seemed as the two teams would blow the rough off the building as the two teams shot a combined 94% from the field with the Panthers shooting
50% while the Warriors shot 44% from the field in the half. Returning to his scoring ways, Carl McNally (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) led the way with 15 points in
the half in 19 minutes of play.

Looking to steal a game away from the Panthers, the Warriors battled with the crimson and grey through the first 8 minutes of play as the game was notched
49-49 with 12:48 on the clock. Realizing that they are letting a ‘W’ slip through their hands, Tech stepped up their defense and closed on any opportunity
the Warriors had a shot at. Going on a 10-2 run, the Panthers pushed their lead to six at 59-53 with 8:59 on the clock. Tech never let the Warrior close
the six point gap and pushed their lead to the eventually 17 point lead in the end; 77-60.

McNally led all scores with 23 points earning him the ‘Carrabba’s Player of the Game’ Award. Three other Panther players scored in double figures; point
guard E.J. Murray (Rockledge, Fla.) scored 20 points and fell short of a double-double with 9 assists. Jod Kelley (McCormick, S.C.) and Janko Mrksic
(Stoney, Creek, Ontario) combined for 20 points 13 rebounds on the night to round out the top scorers for Tech; Kelley recorded 8 rebounds and Mrksic
grabbed 5 boards while each player scored 10 points apiece.

Tech moves to 3-7 overall and next travel down to West Palm Beach, Florida in a South Region match-up against Palm Beach Atlantic University on December
20th at 7 pm.
