Ten to Be Commissioned at Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Cody Starken, a Cocoa resident, is among 10 U.S. Army cadets receiving commissions as second lieutenants at Florida Institute of Technology
on May 5. Also receiving his bachelor’s degree in communications that day, Starken has been accepted for the Army’s adjutant general branch.
Also to be commissioned and to earn bachelor’s degrees are: Genevieve Engelmeyer, psychology major, ordnance branch; Joshua Daneault, aerospace management
major, aviation branch; Wilmarie Greer, computer engineering major, military intelligence branch; Michelle Leonard, interdisciplinary sciences major,
military intelligence branch; Christine Miller, biology major, chemical branch; Jared Porritt, interdisciplinary sciences major, armor branch; and Forest
Woodbury, aerospace management major, aviation branch. Kevin Gall, who will earn his degree in computer sciences in May will be commissioned in July.
Also, Joseph Dietz earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and will join the transportation branch.
Florida Tech is the only independent, technological university in the Southeast. It was named a Barron’s Guide “Best Buy” in College Education, is listed
among America’s best colleges in U.S. News & World Report and was named one of the top 14 technical institutions in engineering in the Fiske Guide to
Colleges.
