Florida Tech Women’s Business Center to Celebrate $150,000 Re-Funding

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Women’s Business Center at Florida Institute of Technology recently received a grant of $150,000 from the Small Business Administration to carry on the center’s commitment to training, counseling, mentoring and technical assistance for women. In celebration, it invites the community to a re-funding event on Nov. 19, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the university’s Hartley Room in the Denius Student Center. A light breakfast will be served.

People are invited to learn more about what the center can do for entrepreneurs, small business owners and others who seek to boost their business skills, increase their understanding of the business world and improve networking support. The center serves Brevard, Indian River and St. Lucie counties.

“We offer clients the Power of Four—the right place, people, partners and products,” said Donn Miller-Kermani, WBC director.

The WBC hosts events and activities for clientele in building small business support systems that promote long-term success. The center offers onsite and remote training on a wide range of business topics as well as online counseling sessions with experienced and knowledgeable mentors. Many of its services are free.
