Twilight Jazz in Cocoa’s Riverfront Park on March 27
– WFIT 89.5FM, a service of Florida Tech, and Cocoa’s Redevelopment Agency will present Twilight Jazz and multi-instrumentalist Al Stevens on March 27,
2005. Twilight Jazz is held the last Sunday of every month from 3-6 p.m. in Cocoa’s Riverfront Park at no charge.
Musicians perform in the amphitheatre, allowing the audiences to see and hear them from any point in the park. There is always an atmosphere that is
conducive to families, picnics and great music. Stevens, a Cocoa resident, is proficient on the piano, bass, and a myriad of horns. The audience will be
treated to hearing him on the trumpet, trombone, sax, coronet and many other horns during the concert. He may even take a turn on the bass or piano.
Stevens performs regularly with the Bill Allred Band, and with other big bands. He also does singles, duos, and trios in clubs and at private parties.
Performing with Stevens will be young piano player, Ryan Larson of Vero Beach. Larson’s playing ability belies his years. He can take a jazz standard and
own it. On stand-up bass will be the venerable Rabbit Simmons. A member of the Naval Academy Band, Rabbit moved to Florida upon retirement. He is
continuously asked to perform with jazz legends that come to the Central Florida area.
Enjoy the ambiance of Cocoa’s Riverfront Park on March 27th and bring families, grand parents and friends along with lawn chairs and blankets for an
afternoon of free jazz by Al Stevens, Ryan Larson and Rabbit Simmons. Musicians may sit in after the first set.
