Two Florida Tech Students Earn Snowdon Fellowships

– Mikhail Dembicki and Jesse Davis, 2004 Florida Tech graduates in ocean engineering, have earned $6,000 Edward W. and Lee Hill Snowdon Fellowships for the
academic year 2004-2005. Both will seek a master’s degree in ocean engineering.

The fellowship is funded by a gift of the Edward W. Snowdon and Lee Hill Snowdon Administrative Fund, Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin
Counties.

The Snowdon fellowship is awarded to deserving graduate students in the Department of Marine and Environmental Systems. The department integrates the
expertise and skills of scientists, engineers and resource managers. The faculty includes individuals devoted to research involving the study of ocean
waves and currents; coastal processes and structures; estuarine hydrology; planktonic and benthonic organisms; meteorology and climatology; hydroacoustics;
coastal and resource management; marine vehicles; biofouling; trace-metal and pollution identification and distribution; computer modeling; remote sensing
and instrumentation.
