Two Local Florida Tech Students To Be Commissioned in U.S. Army

– Two of twelve Florida Tech graduating U.S. Army ROTC cadets are from the Space Coast. They will graduate with their bachelor’s degrees and be
commissioned as second lieutenants on May 4.

They are John Barkley of Indian Harbor Beach, a business administration major headed for the armor branch; and Megan Rubio of Melbourne, a mechanical
engineering major who will join military intelligence.

The other cadets’ names, majors and branch of service are below.

Benjamin Bennett, business administration, ordinance branch
Maxwell Fuldauer, interdisciplinary studies, field artillery branch
Alicia Jones, communications sciences, ordinance branch
Grace Kelly, interdisciplinary studies, military police branch
Kenneth Kim, mechanical engineering, finance branch
Joseph Langlais, aerospace management, infantry branch
Mary Murphy, biochemistry, Signal Corp branch
Pedro Rivera, aerospace engineering, engineer branch
Sean Simpson, computer science, armor branch
Matthew Wakefield, general psychology, field artillery branch

The cadets will be among more than 400 students graduating from Florida Tech’s Charles and Ruth Clemente Center for Sports and Recreation. The
commissioning ceremony will take place at the university’s All Faiths Center.
