University Accounting Program Approved by Licensing Board

– The Florida Tech Accounting program in the School of Management has been approved by the Department of Business and
Professional Regulation through the Florida Board of Accountancy. This approval allows students who take the program’s courses to be eligible to sit for
the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in the state of Florida and also be recognized throughout the nation.

“We are pleased to earn this approval and to provide our students with the background necessary to become CPAs,” said Dr. Tim Hollingsworth, Dean of the
School of Management.

The accounting program, begun in 2002, will graduate its first students with bachelor’s degrees in spring 2004.

The Florida Tech School of Management offers bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business administration, business and environmental studies, information
systems and management information systems, as well as a master’s degree in business administration (MBA).
