University Again Recognized as Military Friendly in G.I. Jobs

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology was once again named a Military Friendly School. Florida Tech is among the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools named by Victory Media for G.I. Jobs in recognition of efforts to recruit, support and retain American veterans and current active or reserve service members as students.

The 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools was compiled through extensive research and a data driven survey of more than 12,000 schools nationwide. Methodology, criteria and weighting for the list were developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board (AAB) consisting of educators from schools across the country.

The list also includes schools that offer additional benefits to students who are service members and veterans. These benefits include on-campus veterans programs, credit for service and military spouse programs, and discounts that allow active duty service members to minimize expenses.

G.I. Jobs is published by Victory Media Inc., a veteran-owned business headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa. The company also publishes The Guide to Military Friendly Schools, Military Spouse and Vetrepreneur magazines and annually rates the nation’s “Military Friendly Employers,” “Military Spouse Friendly Employers” and “Best Corporations for Veteran-Owned Businesses.”

The 2014 Military Friendly School List became available on Sept. 10 at www.militaryfriendlyschools.com. The list also features interactive tools and search functionality to assist military veterans in choosing schools that best meet their educational needs.
