University Center Imaging Boosts Panther Athletics
MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology has received a $100,000 donation from University Center Imaging (UCI) to benefit its growing athletics program.
UCI, a full service diagnostic imaging facility with locations in the Oaks Plaza and Suntree, is the preferred imaging facility for Florida Tech’s Athletic Department. UCI is owned and operated by Medical Technology Transfer (MTT) Corporation.
“We are very pleased that University Center Imaging has joined us to support Panther Athletics,” said Florida Tech President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony J. Catanese. “Their community leadership and service is greatly appreciated.”
UCI’s contributions will support operation of the recently opened 12,600 square foot Varsity Training Center, a new resource for Panther Athletics. Located on the south side of campus in the F.W. Olin Sports Complex, the facility is home to offices for the football coaching staff, a large meeting room, locker room, laundry and equipment facilities, athletic training room and a large weight training room. In honor of their support, the athletic training room will be named for UCI.
“MTT Corporation is pleased to be a principal donor of the Florida Tech Panthers football team,” said Frank Bright, executive vice president of MTT Corporation. “We are proud that our partnership with Florida Institute of Technology will help build upon their exciting new endeavor and the Varsity Training Center that will support the program.”
Florida Tech will host Stetson University in the Panthers’ inaugural football game on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at 7 p.m. at nearby Pirate Stadium in Palm Bay. As a football-only member of NCAA Division II’s Gulf South Conference, FIT is scheduled to play nine regular-season games starting next fall. Six of the contests will be against fellow GSC members Delta State, North Alabama, Shorter, Valdosta State, West Alabama and West Georgia.
