Tamilio Nabs Panthers 1st SSC Womens Basketball Player of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. (women’s basketball) — Senior three year Panther Jen
Tamilio
(Boston, Mass.) grabs her third Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week of her career. Tamilio is Tech’s first women’s basketball honoree
of the 2006-‘07 season. She won the player of week two other times on January 2nd in 2005 and on January 8th 2006.

For the December 4, 2006 SSC Player of the Week honors, Tamilio pushed Tech to a pair of wins against two DII programs including Armstrong Atlantic (72-63)
and conference opponent Eckerd (62-53). Tamilio averaged 17.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game. In a non-conference
victory over Armstrong Atlantic, Tamilio poured in 22 points. She had 13 points, three assists, two steals, and two rebounds versus Eckerd.

Tamilio, a forensic psychology major, transferred to Florida Tech after her freshman year at Salem State College and was also a local product at Salem High
School in Massachusetts. She is currently second on the team in scoring averaging 12.0 points per game and third for rebounding at 4.0 rebounds per game.
Tamilio has 96 points, 32 rebounds, 22 assists, 15 steals and one block helping lift the Panthers to a 7-1 overall record and 1-0 in the SSC.

Thus far for her career, Tamilio has notched 608 points 231 rebounds, 59 three-pointers and is producing a .763 free throw percentage for the past three
years. Despite sitting out half of her junior campaign with a knee injury she managed to reach the 500 point mark after only two seasons as a Panther.
