MELBOURNE, FLA.—The international youth weight loss summer camp, Wellspring, will be held at Florida Institute of Technology for the second year in three, three-week programs. The sessions, for boys and girls, aged 11-18, will be June 3-23; June 24-July 14; and July 15-Aug. 4. Participants may sign up for three, six or all nine weeks.
Wellspring goals for the campers are to lose weight, get in shape and have fun.
“Campers lose an average of four pounds per week and 70 percent of campers maintain or continue weight loss at home,” said Jennifer Hall, Wellspring program director. She adds that “The Wellspring Plan was developed by leading researchers in the fields of adolescent obesity and weight loss.”
The program entails diet management, lifestyle change, family involvement and ongoing support for campers when they finish their programs.
