weVENTURE to be Honored with SBA Women’s Business Center Award May 19

Florida Tech’s Winston Scott to Offer Keynote Address

MELBOURNE, FLA. — weVENTURE, formerly the Women’s Business Center, will be presented with the 2015 U.S. Small Business Administration Southeast Region Women’s Business Center of Excellence Award at the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce Women of Excellence meeting.

The meeting starts at 8 a.m. on May 19 at Baer’s Furniture in Melbourne.

The award acknowledges weVENTURE’s dedication in advocating for and advancing small business ownership and expansion opportunities for women entrepreneurs. weVENTURE was chosen as the Southeast Region Women’s Business Center of Excellence out of WBCs in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

“We are honored to receive this award from the SBA,” said weVENTURE Executive Director Beth Gitlin. “We are passionate about the work that weVENTURE does and grateful to be recognized.”

In addition to the awards presentation, the Women of Excellence breakfast meeting will feature a keynote address from Capt. Winston Scott, Florida Tech’s senior vice president for external relations and economic development.
