WFIT 89.5 FM Participates in NPR Online Auction

– WFIT radio 89.5-FM, a service of Florida Tech, is excited and proud to be participating in the first-ever NPR Online Auction fundraiser this Sept. 14-21.
WFIT is the only station in Florida to be selected by NPR to participate.

The auction, a collaboration of NPR and 25 member stations across the country, will offer listeners hundreds of items and opportunities that are in keeping
with the values of public radio – and with the interests of our audience.

We’ll auction opportunities to join WFIT hosts for live broadcasts as well as experiences out in our community. Listeners can bid on trips to Washington,
D.C. to meet the hosts of “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered” as well as other travel packages, spa getaways, celebrity events and fine dining.
Best of all, because it all takes place online, we can raise money without interrupting our regular programming.

This is different from anything we’ve done before so WFIT has enlisted Nancy Kruse + partners in Washington, D.C., to help produce the auction. Nancy Kruse
+ partners has produced successful online auctions for KPCC (L.A.), KPBS (San Diego), Minnesota Public Radio, WABE (Atlanta), WETA (Washington, D.C.), KQED
(San Francisco), KPLU (Seattle) and WDET (Detroit) and has an auction coming up for KERA (Dallas).

Nancy Kruse + partners will concentrate on acquiring big-ticket auction items such as trips to Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, while WFIT will focus on
items closer to home such as orchestra and theater tickets and fine dining experiences.

We have already obtained hotel accommodations at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando; The Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Resort; paintings by
well-known artists; a condo at the beach, a 2 week stay at the Coronada Hotel and Resort in the country of Panama, tickets for the Tim Wakefield Celebrity
Golf Classic event and a signed Mia Hamm Jersey!

Nancy Kruse + partners will provide and maintain the host auction site. Our listeners will be guided to it by a graphic link on the WFIT
homepage-www.wfit.org

NPR is working closely with its member stations to support the visibility and integrity of the project. NPR will support the auction by making the
following available: NPR merchandise, events and experiences with NPR hosts and promotional support.

WFIT hopes everyone can share our enthusiasm as we reach out to our community of listeners in new ways and seek innovative methods of generating revenue.
The NPR Online Auction opens for preview September 3 through September 13. Bidding begins September 14 and runs through the 21st. see you
