Ruth Funk Center Hosts Comedy Group for Gallery Performance July 13

Event Features Not Quite Right Improv Troupe

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts will host the Not Quite Right Comedy Improv Troupe for a unique and interactive gallery performance at 7 p.m. Friday, July 13.

Guests will join the Melbourne-based group for an improvised walk down memory lane in this special, one-night event. The show takes inspiration from the Center’s current exhibits, Apron Strings: Ties to the Past and Maggy Rozycki Hiltner: Not Quite Sew.

Audience members are encouraged to bring a personal item that means something to them. The NQR actors will take inspiration from the items and breathe new life into them through short stories, plays and monologues – all created on the spot, without a script.

Tickets are $15 for the general public or $10 for Friends of Textiles members and full-time Florida Tech faculty, staff and students, plus sales tax and fees. Tickets are available at the Not Quite Right website here.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Ruth Funk Center.

The Ruth Funk Center is on the Florida Tech campus in Melbourne, 150 W. University Blvd. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. For more information, visit http://textiles.fit.edu or call 321-674-8313.
