Husband Named SSC Pitcher of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla.,(softball) — Senior right handed hurler Judith Husband (Wewahitchka, Fla.) was awarded Tech’s first softball player of the week for the 2007
campaign; along with her first ever conference player of the week honor. Husband, a two-year member of the crimson and gray squad, is currently leading
Tech in the circle with an 8-2 record and a 0.98 ERA.

The senior pitcher went 4-1 for the week with a 1.02 ERA in seven appearances, including a seven-inning shutout of Nova Southeastern. Husband also picked
up all three wins in the Panthers’ series sweep of Saint Leo, posting a 1.21 ERA and striking out 12 in 17.1 innings of work in the three games.

She currently has 17 appearances on ten games started over 71.2 innings pitched. Husband has fanned forty batters, while only allowing ten earned runs thus
far with one complete game shut-out.

Husband transferred to Florida Tech her junior year from the University of Tennessee Martin via Pensacola Junior College. She is majoring in Psychology and
is the daughter of Sandra and Jack Husband of Wewahitchka born in Panama City, Fla.

She was a 2006 Florida Tech Scholar-Athlete and also a 2006 Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll Member. While at PJC, she also earned 1st team
all-conference twice and was a two-time Academic All-American. For her Tech career she is now 16-6 with 162.2 innings pitched and 89 strikeouts.
