Panthers Roll Past Sharks 79-61

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (women’s basketball) — Florida Tech captures repeat performance shutting down the Nova Southeastern Sharks 79-61 in Sunshine State
Conference women’s basketball action at the University Center. Tech defeated the Sharks 77-70 earlier in the season in a non-conference match-up at the NSU
Tip-off Classic back in November. The series now stands at 14-4 in favor of the Panthers.

Senior guard Jen Tamilio (Boston, Mass.) led Tech with a season high 25 points hammering 8-for-14 from the field and 6-for-8 from the line including three
buckets from behind the arc. Tamilio chipped in three assists, three rebounds and game high four steals.

Nova Southeastern’s senior forward Jennifer Havens (Ontario, Ore.) pushed her team with a game high 29 points hitting 13-for-14 from the line. Haven
finished one shy of a double double with nine boards.

Florida Tech kept their turnovers down to a mere 14 for the night to the Sharks 21 for the night. Tech took advantage of the misplayed passes by scoring 30
points off of turnovers. Again Panther reservists scored 39 points off the bench to Nova Southeastern’s two proving once again Tech’s depth is one of their
key factors of the 20062007 season.

The Panthers shot an amazing 53.1% in the first half leading 42-28 heading into the locker room. The crimson and gray hoopsters finished with their season
high shooting percentage at 51.7% for the year.

Coming off the bench, junior small forward Kristin Heminger (Merritt Island, Fla.) added 14 points, two assists and three rebounds. Fellow key reservist
senior center Danise Fequiere (Miami, Fla.) and junior guard McKena Richardson (Quartz Hill, Cal.) combined for 17 points with Fequiere scoring nine and
Richardson eight for the conference show-down. Richardson also tied for game high with four steals.

Junior guard Tenisha Chase (Upper Marlboro, Md.) had five assists and four rebounds, while senior guard Danielle Vaughn (Tallahassee, Fla.) also notched
four rebounds and added seven points.

Florida Tech is now 14-3 on the season and 6-1 in the SSC. Nova Southeastern has a 5-12 overall record and is 4-3 in the conference. Tech will be back in
action on Wednesday, January 24 when they host Rollins College at a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. Remember fans you can follow the game live via the webcast at
