WFIT Presents Acoustic Alliance through Bluegrass in the Park

– WFIT 89.5FM, a service of Florida Tech, and Palm Bay Parks and Recreation Department will present Bluegrass in the Park featuring Acoustic Alliance on
Sunday, June 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. The group will perform for free at Goode Park in Palm Bay.

Acoustic Alliance, back by popular demand, formed in Brevard County in 2001 and has been going strong every since. Performing at festivals throughout
Florida, including the ever-popular Florida Folk Festival, they are in high demand with their sound and approach to traditional bluegrass, folk, swing and
gypsy jazz. The group consistently features pleasing three- and four-part harmonies as well as intricate and well-developed instrumental pieces.

Acoustic Alliance members include lone female Patti Sanzone. A vocalist and guitar/washboard player, Sanzone has performed at the Florida State Folk
Festival for three years and has shared the stage with national recording acts.

Another group vocalist, Roy Carlson, plays guitar, mandolin, harmonica and the penny whistle, and has played semi-professionally since 1973. He placed
sixth in 2002’s “Home of Legends” contest in Kentucky and first in the 2004 “Gamble “Rogers Festival.”

Gary Mousseau on upright bass also performs with the Brevard Symphony and is the music teacher at Croton Elementary School. “Smokin” Bo Frazer has the high
energy and the sense of humor of the group. He plays the fiddle, does vocals and plays the guiro, a hollow gourd instrument. Frazer has played at the
Diamond Horseshoe Revue at Disneyworld, Cheyenne Saloon at Church Street Station and has performed throughout the country playing everything from bluegrass
to western swing.

Last but not least, Frank Sanzone, who formed Acoustic Alliance, was influenced by his mandolin-playing grandfather as a youngster and took percussion
lessons from Layland Rollo of the Paul Whitman band. Sanzone was influenced by Rollo to play the five-string banjo. Before he formed Acoustic Alliance,
Sanzone performed with a western-style swing group.

Acoustic Alliance has entertained at the Melbourne Art Festival, Sounds of Sebastian, Palm Bay’s Jazzmania and other venues as well as at The Sun Shoppe,
The Alamo, Lou’s Blues Club, Café Stella Blue and live on WFIT’s FM Odyssey show. The nationally syndicated program is hosted by Fred Migliore. Come to
Goode Park, 1300 Bianca Drive, with lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics. For more information, call Sandi Hall at WFIT-89.5FM at (321) 674-8950.
