The Bisk College of Business at Florida Tech hosted a “Free Pizza and Career Learning Event” on April 17 in collaboration with the Brevard chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). The well-attended event was planned and coordinated by the Office of Dean Ted Richardson, professor Angel Otero and College of Business personnel, in partnership with the Brevard IIA chapter.
The event brought together Florida Tech students from across majors and industry professionals for a panel discussion on careers in internal auditing. It provided students the opportunity to connect directly with practitioners and learn more about this growing and in-demand field.
The panel featured distinguished guest speakers who shared real-world experiences, career pathways and perspectives on the evolving role of internal auditors in supporting organizational performance, risk management and compliance. The discussion also highlighted the growing relevance of internal auditing across industries, as well as the importance of professional certifications such as the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Through initiatives like this, the College of Business continues to strengthen its commitment to experiential learning, industry engagement and career readiness, reinforcing its role as a hub for connecting students with meaningful professional opportunities.
