Cycle Jam May 7 to Benefit Space Coast Early Intervention Center

Florida Tech Business College Among Sponsors

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The Space Coast Early Intervention Center’s 8th annual Cycle Jam fundraiser is set for Sunday, May 7, offering bicycle rides ranging from family jaunts to an elite-level 100-miler.

The first ride leaves at 7 a.m. from the Field of Dreams on Fell Road in West Melbourne.

A new addition to Cycle Jam, Family Fun Fest, will start at 10 a.m. Featuring face painting, a photo booth and more, the event’s main focus is to highlight the constellation of Brevard County service organizations and businesses that can assist families, including those with special-needs and disabled children. Organizations scheduled to attend include Brevard Achievement Center, Promise in Brevard, the Early Learning Coalition, Florida Institute of Technology’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment and about 20 others.

Florida Tech’s Bisk College of Business is a proud sponsor of the Cycle Jam. Business majors Kaitlin Buchholz, Charlotte Hoyt, James Morgan, Jake Morley and Brandon Stern have handled the event’s social media outreach and marketing, which included registration and information websites and informational postcards, graphics and flyers.

All proceeds from Cycle Jam benefit SCEIC, a preschool that specializes in preparing children with and without disabilities for kindergarten and beyond. Special-needs students with diagnoses such as down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy or speech, hearing or vision impairments receive instruction and therapy in fully inclusive programs with their typically developing peers.
