Construction Organization to Hold Recognition Banquet

– Florida Tech’s Construction Industry Advisory Board (CIAB) and the Department of Civil Engineering will honor two industry leaders and salute
construction excellence at a banquet on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The public is invited to the event, which begins with a networking social at 5:30 p.m., and
continues with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The banquet will be held at Florida Tech, in the Hartley Room of the Denius Student Center.

The CIAB will honor the president of TDIndustries, Ben Houston, for excellence in construction management. A past national president of Associated Builders
and Contractors, Inc., Houston also will speak at the event. Since 1998, Fortune Magazine has named TDIndustries, a Dallas, Texas mechanical engineering
contracting firm, one of the nation’s top 10 companies to work for.

Dr. Brisbane Brown, of University of Florida’s M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction, will be honored for excellence in construction education.
A “Distinguished Educator” inductee to the Construction Hall of Fame, Brown was also named “UF Distinguished Professor” by the Florida Blue Key.

Banquet proceeds will support Camp Dream Builders, a junior high school summer camp at Florida Tech, and other public service programs offered by CIAB.
