Florida Tech Presents 13th Annual Sporting Affair

– Florida Institute of Technology’s 13th annual Sporting Affair is scheduled for Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Suntree Country Club in Melbourne. This
annual event provides needed funding for scholarships and the Florida Tech athletics program.

The affair will combine three exciting events, beginning with a shotgun-style golf tournament and ending with a fabulous dinner in the clubhouse. Florida
Tech Athletic Director Bill Jurgens said this year’s event offers something for everyone.

“We think the variety of events, from the afternoon golf tournament, the Chopper Dropper cocktail party and fundraiser, to the evening dinner and auction
will make for an enjoyable day for all who attend,” said Jurgens. “Our committee this year has ensured plenty of surprises and excitement throughout the
day.”

The Sporting Affair begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start golf tournament. After the tournament, the second annual “Chopper Dropper” takes center stage at
5:30. For the Chopper Dropper, a $50 donation will give a donor one numbered golf ball, or one chance of winning. Among the numbered balls that will rain
down from a helicopter onto the Suntree Country Club golf course will be one lucky ball that lands in or closest to the cup. That ball will win $25,000 for
its sponsor.

A dinner and auction follows the Chopper Dropper. Dinner door prizes include golf bags, ipods and a plasma television. Auction items include tickets to a
Red Sox game at Fenway Park, Orlando Magic tickets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets, and much more.

A variety of sponsorship packages, ranging from $150 to $25,000, are available. For sponsorship information, contact Janet Price at 674-8965. Several
ticket packages for golf or golf and dinner are also available. For more information contact the Florida Tech athletics office at 674-8032.
