Two Honored at Florida Tech Commencement

– Two students graduating with bachelor’s degrees at Florida Tech’s December commencement received Faculty Honors Awards for academic excellence. The
students were Fawzi Al-Ghamdi of Saudi Arabia and Muhammad H. Arshad, who is from Pakistan.

Al-Ghamdi, who graduated with a 3.94 grade point average, earned a degree in electrical engineering. He was named a Distinguished Scholar at the 2002 and
2003 Honors Convocations and was also the Outstanding Junior and Outstanding Senior in electrical engineering. He was an invited member of two honor
societies and was on the Dean’s List all four years at Florida Tech.

Arshad, who graduated with a 3.92 grade point average, earned a degree in computer sciences. His research has already been published in scientific journals
and presented at professional workshops. Also while at Florida Tech, he earned a Distinguished Scholar Award and was named Outstanding Senior in computer
sciences.

Florida Tech offers undergraduate programs in science, engineering, science and math education, aeronautics, business, humanities, psychology, and
communication; master’s programs in science, engineering, aeronautics, business, psychology, communication, education (science, math, environmental and
instructional technology); and doctoral programs in science, engineering, psychology, and science and math education.
