Florida Tech WBC Offers Microsoft Word and Excel Courses Starting February

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Florida Institute of Technology Women’s Business Center (WBC) will present a series of Microsoft Word and Excel 2010 courses, which will include five sessions each. These fast-paced courses offer students a hands-on, interactive learning experience and are ideal for those who are looking to upgrade their skills. The classes will be held in the Skurla Aeronautics Building, Room 203, on campus. The cost for each series is $100. The price includes all five classes in the series.

Prerequisites for the Word series include a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute and basic knowledge of computers. The following sessions are:

Introduction to Word 2010, Creating and Editing a Document

Features and Basic Formatting

Formatting Paragraphs and Documents using Styles

Working with Tables and Graphics

Gaining Proficiency in Word

The following sessions for the Excel course are:

Introduction to Excel 2010, Creating a Workbook and Charting Data

Formulas, Functions, and Formatting

What-If Analysis, Charting, and Working with Large Worksheets

Creating, Sorting, and Querying a Table

Working with Multiple Worksheets

The Word series starts Feb. 7 at 6 p.m., and continues at the same time on Feb. 14, Feb. 21, Feb. 28 and March 6. The Excel series begins Feb. 8 at 6 p.m., and continues at the same time on Feb. 15, Feb. 22, Feb. 29 and March 7.
