Florida Techcelerator Summit to Showcase Innovation Ecosystem July 15-16

MELBOURNE, FLA. — weVENTURE Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech will host a powerful and informative two-day summit July 15-16 to showcase the Space Coast innovation ecosystem and the unique resources available to high-tech innovators.

The Florida Techcelerator Summit is free to attend but requires registration. It will feature a variety of events, starting with an open house at the university’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design (CAMID) and happy hour at ecosystem partner Groundswell Startups on July 15.

July 16 will begin with a keynote presentation by Brevard entrepreneur Megan Wolfgram, founder and CEO of Swift Paws, Inc. Panel discussions will follow on leveraging partnerships and diversifying the innovation ecosystem. There will also be a business showcase, where founders are invited to pitch their company and be considered for the weVENTURE WBC IMPCT Grant or to be in the inaugural cohort of the new Florida Techcelerator program.

The summit culminates with a screening of “Show Her the Money” at Gleason Performing Arts Center on the Florida Tech campus. The documentary explores the severe gender imbalance in venture capital funding.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with producers from the film, featured investors and female founders. The screening is open to the public and guests may attend the screening without attending the full-day summit but must still register in advance.

The summit is possible because weVENTURE WBC was recently awarded Phase I funding from the US Small Business Administration 2024 Growth Accelerator Competition to support the university’s impactful and inclusive approach to nurturing a collaborative national innovation ecosystem to advance small business research and development from ideas to the market.

This two-day summit aims to strengthen ecosystem partnerships, highlight the unique resources available to high-tech innovators at Florida Tech and on the Space Coast, engage mentors and investors, and identify founders for the first cohort of the Florida Techcelerator program.

The Techcelerator program applies weVENTURE WBC’s proven IGNITE 360 method for business mentorship to high-tech, innovative businesses in partnership with CAMID’s Design> Make> Manufacture> Coaching (DMMC) support. This blend of business expertise and engineering excellence can help nurture a more diverse and inclusive innovation ecosystem.
