Your University History on Exhibit

by Rose Petralia

Eau Gallie Jr. High School, the University of Melbourne, Brevard Engineering College… though you may not recognize these once-familiar institutions, each has played an integral role in shaping today’s Florida Institute of Technology. Want to know more? Here’s your opportunity!

Evans Library’s new exhibit, Vision Extraordinaire: The History of Florida Institute of Technology, will launch with an Open House on April 29 from 10am to 2pm, and we’d like everyone to join us. The slick exhibit showcases our new University Archives Exhibition Room on the library’s first floor and features interesting artifacts and a rich, interactive historical timeline.

Learn about FIT’s metamorphosis from tiny 154-student engineering college to culturally-diverse, top-ranked technological university — but don’t skip over such gems as 1974’s mass streak or Florida Tech’s first individual national golf championship in 2007!

Today’s news is tomorrow’s history, so while you’re here, be sure to look for yourself in one of two student photo mosaics on our exhibit walls. We’re excited to share your Florida Tech history with you.
