NASA VIP to Give Florida Tech Space Exploration Lecture

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech’s Astronomy and Astrophysics Public Lecture Series will present “The Vision for Space Exploration” on Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. The
free presentation will be in the F.W. Olin Engineering Complex auditorium, Room EC118.

The lecture is by Russell Romanella, director, International Space Station and Spacecraft Processing Directorate, Kennedy Space Center.
A Miami native, Romanella entered NASA’s co-op program as a Florida State University student in 1981. Joining NASA after graduation, he progressed through
the ranks to his current position. Romanella has been involved in many breakthroughs in space exploration and resulting data analysis.

He is a recipient of group achievement and performance awards, including NASA’s Exceptional Service Medal. He earned that in 1996 for outstanding
management leadership in the development and operation of the payload data management system.

Stargazing will follow on the rooftop of the Olin Physical Sciences Building, weather-permitting. The F.W. Olin Engineering Complex is located on
University Boulevard.
