OHara in 6th Place at NSU Womens Golf Classic after Day One

TAMARAC, Fla. (women’s golf) – The Panthers are led by freshman Stacy O’Hara (Orlando, Fla.) who is currently in 6th place with a first round 75 just three
over Par. This is the first time O’Hara has scored low round for Tech and led her team. Florida Tech is currently in 8th place with a team 330 first round
score.

Also competing for Tech was sophomore, SSC Freshman of the Year, Daniela Iacobelli (Melbourne, Fla.) who is tied for 23rd with an 81, senior Ericka
Hildreth (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Natalie Kohler (Johannesburg, South Africa) both toed for 45th shooting an 87 round. Freshman newcomer Tabitha
Jones (Kernersville, N.C.) DQ’d after the first round.

Included among the competitors are nine ranked Division II schools, including five in the top 10 nationally, NJCAA #2 Daytona Beach C.C. and NAIA #18
Northwood University (FL). The #4 nationally ranked NSU Women’s Golf program stands in second place and just one shot off the lead after day one of the NSU
Spring Classic, held at 6090 yard, par 72 Woodmont Country Club – Cypress Golf Course.

Daytona Beach CC leads the field, firing an 18 hole total of 309 (+21) in the first day of play. Host #4 Nova Southeastern University stands just one shot
back in second place with a 310 (+22). #3 Lynn University (311, +23), #6 West Florida (313,+25) and #7 Barry University (314, +26) follow.

#13 Pfeiffer University (325, +37), #8 Florida Gulf Coast (326, +38), #40 Florida Tech (330, +42), #9 Newberry (337, +49), #58 Saint Leo (344, +56),
Northwood (351, +63) and Ashland University (368, +80) round out the field.

Pfeiffer University’s Brittany Beltran and NSU’s Lina Bjorklund (Jr., Falun, Sweden) are tied atop the leaderboard, shooting indentical even par rounds of
72. Daytona Beach CC’s Laura Lindsey stands alone in third place with a 75 while NSU’s Maria Garcia Austt (Fr., Montevideo, Uruguay) and Saint Leo’s Angela
Sparagowski are tied for fourth place with a 74.

The Panthers will return to play tomorrow, Tuesday March 27th, to play the final round of the 2007 NSU Spring Classic .
