Women to Face Barry Bucs

Florida Tech and BarryUniversity have met a total of 44 times in the conference series. The Panthers own a 27-17 edge with two wins coming last season. The
Panthers are on a four-game winning streak while the Bucs are on a six-game streak of their own. Florida Tech will have to be cognisant of Barry’s junior
guard combination of Princess Bailey and Lucy Martinez. The two are both the top scorers and rebounders on the Barry team. Barry will have to be on the
lookout for Florida Tech’s playmaking freshman guard Lynisha Nelson and, a consistent scorer, junior guard Kristin Heminger.
On the Panthers
Florida Tech rolls into MiamiShores with a 4-0 record to start the season. On Monday, the Panthers played FloridaMemorialUniversity in a tough battle. At
the end, however, Florida Tech pulled away to win the game by more than 10 points. Florida Tech’s shooting percentage took a dip against FMU, shooting 25
percent in the first half from the field and 0-11 from three point range. They finished the game shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 18.2 percent from
deep. Heminger continued her blistering scoring pace with 18 points on the night, but she was topped by junior forward Sabrina Jones who had 20 points.
On Barry University
The Barry Bucs had a tough shooting night of their own in their last game against Palm Beach Atlantic. Their shooting woes put them in an 18-point hole in
the first half of the game on Monday. Barry fought back to win 58-49 in West Palm Beach. It was the first challenge the Bucs faced this season as they’ve
won their other five games by an average margin of 23.8 points.
