NCSBI Community Outreach

The National Center for Small Business Information (NCSBI), located on the third floor of the Link Building, provides strategic training that is making a
difference and is under the direction of Dr. Annie Becker, College of Business professor of management information systems. For more information about NCSB
call 321-674-7003 or visit www.ncsbi.fit.edu. In addition to offering state-of-the art training designed to promote success in government contracting, the
center also participates in several community outreach programs. Among these outreach programs are its work with Brevard Job Link; Networking for
Women@NCSBI; and Space Coast Townhall for Technologists. At Brevard Job Link, the center is providing business software training at Job Link’s Palm Bay and
Cocoa offices. In addition, the Job Link staff is referring clients to the on-site government and professional enrichment courses. Clients are increasing
their job employability skills as well as discovering opportunities to start or enhance a business of their own. By networking for women, NCSBI provides a
network of support for women interested in government contracting and technology expertise. Through monthly meetings and forums, self-promotion and
networking opportunities are made available and, more importantly, encouraged. Scheduled speakers include Brevard County commissioner Sue Carlson and Pam
Gillespie, executive administrator for U.S. Rep. Dave Weldon. The Space Coast Technology Townhall Meeting is a network of support for Space Coast area
small businesses that are focused on engineering and technology solutions. The goal of the network is to guide and support building relationships within
our network as well as with prime contractors and government officials. Scheduled speakers include Neil Mullins, manager, supplier diversity, Northrop
Grumman; Allen Beck, EADS-NA; and Linda Sherod, Wing Small Business Office director, Patrick Air Force Base.
