Dena Taylor Quartet to Play Wickham Park in Free Concert

MELBOURNE, FLA. — WFIT 89.5FM, a service of Florida Tech, and the Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department present vocalist Dena Taylor and her quartet
on Saturday, Sept. 1, from 3 to 6 p.m., in Wickham park’s new pavilion. This free event is open to the public.

Vocalist Taylor sings both jazz and blues, interpreting lyrics to combine emotion with musicianship, adding a sense of drama and timing.
The other quartet members are Ron Texeira, Johnny Fitz and Dave Dunscombe.

Teixeira, who plays keyboard, is well known in the Brevard area for his repertoire of songs and as the house piano player at Heidi’s Jazz Club. Fitz, on
bass, will no doubt sing a tune or two to the delight of the audience and drummer Dunscombe will exhibit his expertise in backing singers.

“He knows when to push and drive the drums to get the subtle beat without overpowering the singer,” said Sandi Hall of WFIT.
