Foosaner Portrait Exhibition Closing July 30

Museum Inventory Process Necessitates Earlier Closing

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The solo exhibition of 140 portraits from California artist Ray Turner at Florida Institute of Technology’s Foosaner Art Museum will close on Saturday, July 30, one week earlier than previously announced.

The early closing is tied to the museum’s ongoing efforts to clean and catalog its permanent collection of over 5,000 pieces, a process that will require the use of the gallery currently displaying Turner’s Population exhibition. The museum’s two other galleries have been closed since January as part of the project.

Population opened May 21. The portraits, painted with oils on glass, include 18 depicting Brevard County community leaders such as Florida Tech President and CEO T. Dwayne McCay, and local philanthropists.
