Womens Business Center Offers Seminar in Copyrights and Trademarks

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The Florida Tech Women’s Business Center (WBC) presents a seminar on “Copyrights and Trademarks” on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The cost is $10. Men and women are welcome to attend.

This seminar looks at the difference between a copyright and a trademark, how each is protected and why one would require such protection. The talk will
address the differences in copyright and trademark rights, basic issues regarding registration and an overview of the typical copyright and trademark
issues and potential pitfalls for business owners when developing Web sites or other marketing materials.

The presenter is Florida Tech alumnus Steve Thomas. A partner at Hayworth, Chaney & Thomas P.A. in Melbourne, Fla., he practices in the areas of
business law and intellectual property law.

The seminar is sponsored by the WBC at Florida Tech. It will be held on campus in the Link Building, Room 327. For more information and to sign up, call
