Womens Business Center to Offer Funding Seminar March 4

MELBOURNE, FLA. —The Florida Institute of Technology Women’s Business Center (WBC) will present the Focus on Funding seminar on March 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held in the Link Building, Room 323 on campus. The cost to attend is $55 per person.

The six-hour class is tailored for those looking to build fundraising strategies and increase their skills and knowledge of finding appropriate funding sources. The seminar will give an overview of the fundraising process and introduce participants to tools for successful fundraising. Participants will learn how to identify prospective donors, select appropriate donors, choose the right funding sources, seek available private and government grant resources and discern best practices when writing proposals.

Facilitator Emily “Lee” Bailey was an executive director for several social service and art organizations and has been responsible for resource development in various educational settings. She was awarded over $75 million in competitive grants during her career. She recently retired from the Philanthropy Center at Rollins College where she developed curricula, wrote proposals and instructed fund development and proposal writing for the nonprofit community.
