Women’s Business Expo Coming to Melbourne Aug. 20

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Third Annual Space Coast Women’s Business Expo comes to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Melbourne Oceanfront on Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event’s main sponsors are the Women’s Business Center (WBC) at Florida Institute of Technology, the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) and the Hip Chicks of Brevard. The organizations originated the expo in 2008.

The event, which offers the opportunity to network, discover new ways to adapt to the changing economy and learn more about local businesses and services, is open to all men and women. The day offers speakers, vendors, giveaways, promotions and networking.

The day will feature three keynote speakers The first speaker, at 9 a.m., will be Susan Mazza, a business consultant, coach and trainer who specializes in leading and managing change. Her presentation is titled “Making Choices.”

Other speakers include Sebastian resident Rebecca Carswell, noted lecturer and author. Her presentation is “Hey, Are You Listening to Me?” The lunch keynote speaker is Jay Forte. A former financial executive and corporate educator, he is now a work and life coach, speaker and author as well as a nationally ranked thought leader and president of Humanetrics. His presentation is “You are Amazing. . . no, Extraordinary!”

Donn E. Miller-Kermani, Ph.D., director of the Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech, is the event organizer. “Our goal is to reinforce the message, ‘Choice, Ownership, Impact.’ Everyone has the choice in life whether it is business, work, family or something else. Once the choice is made they must take ownership of it. This will create an impact not only on their world but on society as well,” she said.

The event is a showcase for those wishing to see vendors demonstrating their products and services while they learn valuable information.
