X-Culture: The End Is Closing In
Guest Blogger: Daniel Hurst
Now that the end is closing in on the X culture project, I must say that I am relieved. I was definitely excited for the opportunity to be a part of this project and meet people from around the world. Having completed most of the project, I have mixed feelings about my adventure. Like most group projects, you end up with a mixed bag of teammates. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t. I feel this group fell somewhere in the middle. Me and another teammate, have been excited throughout the project and working towards the goal along the way, while others have had less enthusiasm towards our goal and have had little influence on the project. Two teammates have popped in and out doing some work when absolutely necessary and a couple have been either nonexistent or dropped from the team altogether.
So far it has been somewhere between fun and troubling based on the interactions and participation. I am trying to stay optimistic, because I know college students have a tendency to wait till the end to really get going on a project. I will keep my fingers crossed for some better results, but at this point we have set up contingency plans just in case.
