Strong Start for Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Women’s Basketball) – The Florida Tech women’s basketball team made an
impressive showing in an exhibition game against the College of the Bahamas on Sunday. The game was never in doubt. At the final buzzer, Florida Tech
took the win by a score of 91-60.   Freshman guard Lynisha Nelson made a strong showing
with 10 points, seven assists and three steals. The high scorer for the Panthers was junior forward Kristin Heminger with 14 points. Two
others joined Nelson with 10 points. Senior guard Tenisha Chase scored 10 points on four
of nine from the field while senior forward Kassie Crimi went five for six to get
her 10. The leading rebounder for the Panthers was senior forward Casselle Russell with five.   The
Panthers shot for 54.5 percent from the field and 62.5 percent in the first half. They were 18-23 from the free throw line. Florida Tech held the College
of the Bahamas to 41.8 percent from the field.   Florida Tech looks to continue the successful start into the first regular season game at 5 p.m. on
November 17, in Palm Beach, Fla. against Palm Beach Atlantic.
