Florida Tech Graduates Earn Top Dollar, Lead State

Florida Tech a Top 20 University in the South,Best 25 Nationally for Engineering Schools

MELBOURNE, FLA.—A recent survey, the 2011-2012 College Salary Report published by PayScale.com, ranks Florida Institute of Technology graduates’ mid-career median salaries in first place among Florida’s universities. Nationally, Florida Tech rose 17 spots compared to 2010-2011, from #56 to #39 among private universities. Other universities with salaries for graduates similar to Florida Tech’s include Columbia, Yale, Brown, Drexel and Johns Hopkins.

Further, the report lists Florida Tech among the top 20 universities in the South—both public and private. Florida Tech grads reported salaries similar to graduates of Duke, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt and Georgetown.

“Our students know there are plenty of reasons to choose Florida Tech. This is just one more good reason,” said President Anthony J. Catanese. “Student success remains our primary focus—and we’re pleased to see that Florida Tech grads continue to rank among the top earners in the nation, proving the high value of their degrees.”

In addition to the survey placing the salaries for Florida Tech bachelor’s degree graduates at the top of the list for all colleges in Florida, the university also ranked among the best 25 engineering colleges in the country for salary potential. Florida Tech graduates have starting median salaries of $53,700 and mid-career median salaries of $88,700.

“Median” is defined here as half of the employees who are graduates of a school will earn more than this salary; half will earn less.
