Downstagers Present Tales of Old Mosquito County at Foosaner Art Museum March 19

MELBOURNE, FLA.— Museum Monday, a presentation of the Foosaner Art Museum, Florida Institute of Technology, presents the Downstagers in a performance of “Tales of Old Mosquito County” March 19, at 10 a.m., in the museum’s Harris Community Auditorium.Brevard’s ever-popular theatrical troupe features veteran actors Ed Baranowski, Gloria Dash, Jim Phillips and Marijane Zimmerman.

A mix of bits, skits and vignettes, “Tales of Old Mosquito County,” is the first real on-stage dramatization of Brevard County events and historical lore covering an era that stretches from the late 1800s to World War II. The audience can expect to be intrigued and amused at the characterization of the unfolding events and the real people who experienced them before there was air conditioning.

Museum Monday is a community outreach program that focuses on art and creativity in various forms. Sponsored by the Guild of the Foosaner Art Museum, the free programs are held in the Harris Community Auditorium at 10 a.m. on the third Monday, January through May. Light refreshments are served.
