Help us find Journey and Trust Everitt

Journey Everitt is Missing!

While largely focused on fun and friendly competition, the Chevrolet Fireball Run has a serious side as well. The Race To Recover America’s Missing Children, which is the country’s largest and longest-running active recovery effort for missing and abducted children. Because the Fireball Run elicits over $429 million in publicity and television news and is the focus of over 100 newspaper stories across America, it is a great vehicle for spreading awareness about abducted children–and it works.

To date, the Fireball Run has aided in the recovery of 35 missing children.

Trust Everitt is Missing!

This is one of the main reasons Florida Tech signed on to be a part of it. The university has a long-standing commitment to civic engagement and community service that extends throughout the campus, and we think we can help. How?

Florida Tech touches the lives of thousands of students and hundreds of staff and faculty on a daily basis, all of them easily reachable through email lists and social networking. So we’re spreading the word! Awareness is, after all, the most successful tactic when it comes to locating lost, missing or abducted children.

Want to join in our effort? To help us find the missing children, please download and print the Have You Seen Journey and Trust? fliers. Hang the poster in your office, lobby, gym or wherever! You can also save it to your hard drive and post it to your blog or your favorite social network. We encourage you to make one of the badges (look over there, in the right column) your Facebook profile image during the course of the 2011 Fireball Run or until the children are found, whichever comes first!

Journey Everitt (assigned to Team Florida Tech) is 8 years old. Her brother Trust (assigned to Geoff Bodine’s team) is 4 years old. Both were last seen on Dec. 22, 2010. Journey will be 9 on Sept. 6, has brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 4’6″ tall. Trust was 4 on July 1, has blond hair and brown eyes.

If you have any information about Journey or Trust, please call the designated tip-line at 800-423-TIPS.
