Florida Tech alumnus delivers commencement address at Fort Lee, Virginia

 FORT LEE, VIRG. — The Dickerson Auditorium located in the Army Logistics Management College (ALMC) was the site of Florida Tech’s off-campus site in
Fort Lee fall graduation ceremonies held on Dec. 12, 2007. Delivering the commencement address was alumnus Brig. Gen. Jesse Cross, commanding general,
United States Army Quartermaster Center and School; and deputy commanding general, Fort Lee.   Prior to this assignment, Cross was assigned as
commander of the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Defense Logistics Agency. He was promoted to Brigadier General in 2005. Cross was inducted as a
Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Regiment in 2006 and was awarded the Distinguished Order of Saint Martin in 2003. During his distinguished
career, Cross earned a master’s degree in logistics management from Florida Institute of Technology.   Master’s degrees were awarded to 12 students
some of which are on military assignment at Fort Lee. One such student at Fort Lee was Maj. Ashley Wayne Walker of the New Zealand Armed Forces. He
attended as an international student and graduated with a master’s degree in management with a concentration in logistics management.   Florida Tech
through University College Extended Studies Division offers graduate degree and certificate programs at 10 U.S. sites in five states, including a
well-established distance learning program. Degrees have been awarded to candidates representing the military services, federal and local government, and a
