Communications Director Is Public Relations-Accredited

-Jay Wilson, director of the Florida Tech Office of University Communications, has earned the credential of Accredited in Public Relations (APR). This
designation is granted by the Universal Accreditation Board. It is based on a candidate’s successful completion of a day-long exam, which tests the ability
to develop sound public relations strategies.

Developed to recognize the professional growth of public relations practitioners, the test is administered worldwide. Currently, there are only about 185
public relations professionals in the Florida Public Relations Association who have earned this credential.

Earlier this year, Wilson and his team received an Award of Excellence from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Southeast
Region, for the category, Overall Media Communications program.
